Miami Dolphins are hosting this years Superbowl
It’s on! The NFL playoffs begin this Saturday, Jan. 9 with the New York Jets vs. the Cincinnati Bangles, 4:30 ET on NBC.
Like every year at the end of the regular football season, six teams from each conference (AFC and NFC) will compete in the playoff games, a 12-team single-elimination tournament that culminates in the Super Bowl championship game. Super Bowl XLIV will be played Feb. 7, 2010 at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, FL. It is the 10th time the city will host the event.
In addition, all-star players from both conferences meet and compete in the Pro Bowl, which, starting this year, will take place a week prior to the Super Bowl (also in Miami).
