Football 101 Women Fans — we are so happy to have celebrated our first Superbowl with you. And the Saints were too — their first Superbowl run ended in victory — now, that’s the way to do it! As Lisa mentioned on our Facebook page, it wasn’t the most exciting game, but it had its moments. Below are my five fave moments of Superbowl XLIV.
* ETRADE babies and Bud Light featuring T Payne. Milkaholic, anyone?
In my opinion, these commercials stole the show. Doritos Watch Yourself was a close second. If you haven’t seen them, click the links and enjoy!
* The Saints’ onside kick at the beginning of the second half – I learned that this play only works 18 percent of the time. Or maybe now it’s 19…
* Call Barney Stinson. Need I say more?
* The shots of Drew Brees holding baby son Baylen after the Saints’ big win — he just seems so nice. After all, he raised more than $4.5 million for charity!
* The Gridiron Gourmet as I like to call it. Chicken wings, cookies, wine, dip….hello Jillian Michaels workout.
So those are my fave moments of Superbowl 40. What were yours?!

Brad Smith is a wide receiver for the New York Jets, which by the grace of God are going to Indianapolis next week for the AFC playoff game (gulp). Though he wasn’t integral to the game on Sunday, he is both on and off field a leader that surprises us with his humble manners and grace.

Girls, we gotta give it up for Peyton Manning this week! I watched last night’s game against the Pats with a dedicated heart. I bet my husband, a dedicated Patriots fan, that the Colts would win. I have to admit that 3/4 of the game I was biting my tongue, but in the last 13 seconds the Colts pulled out all the stops and won 35 to 34, remaining undefeated for the 2010 season!
Like all of our faithfully chosen Players of the Week, Peyton is involved in more than just the Direct TV and Oreo ads, which are hilarious by the way. As one of the most marketable players in the NFL he has taken time to give back to his community.

Yes, I know he beat my Giants last week. Yes, it was embarrassing, but I am a bigger woman than that and can see the forest through the brees. I mean trees!
Brees and his wife have raised $4.5 million to help advance cancer research, care for cancer patients, and help rebuild schools, parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields in New Orleans, San Diego, and Purdue communities. The energy around this guy is so amazing I am sure he is a delight to have as a celebrity advocate for all of these wonderful charities. And you can take that to the bank.

The NFL is hosting a variety of breast cancer awareness promotions during October; players will wear cleats, hats, decals, ribbons, etc. All in support of ‘the gals’.
Bears fans can buy this t-shirt for $15, and a pink football, how freaking cute is this! All money raised will go to local organizations that provide care, support and assistance to patients and families affected by breast cancer.
Check what your team is doing for Breast Cancer Awareness month in this nifty table created by The Football Girl.
