Lisa's journey
Whew! I needed that!
Wow, has it really been a month since the Superbowl??
Sorry ladies, I needed a break. The Colts falling apart, the lack of good commercials, and did I mention that the chili I made was way too hot? I actually bought Rolaids in advance for my guests! It was a big-ole-failure!
I know I am being hard on myself, but you can see why I needed a break. Susan and I are thinking of interesting and unique ways to keep the spirit alive during the off-season and continue to learn, share, teach and inspire us all for an informed and fun 2010 season! Keep your eyes peeled for:
* Movie suggestions from your favorite Bears players
* Places to watch games and have a cool drink outside in the summer
* More Football 101 basics
* And more as we continue to brainstorm
Did you know: What is Football 101 Women?
“When I got married I didn’t even know there were so may ESPN channels. When I try to get involved in my husband’s sports teams he turns me down, shuts me out and keeps on keeping on with the game, what do I do to be more involved?”
I screamed at the TV, “Ladies, that’s what Football 101 Women is for! We can help you learn about football from a ladies perspective and impress the pants off your man next time he shuts you out, turns you down and keeps on keeping on!”

A lady went into a bar in Texas and saw a cowboy with his feet propped up on a table. He had the biggest boots she’d ever seen.
The woman asked the cowboy if it’s true what they say about men with big feet being well endowed. The cowboy grinned and said, “Shore is, little lady. Why don’t you come on out to the bunkhouse and let me prove it to you?”
The woman wanted to find out for herself, so she spent the night with him. The next morning she handed him a $100 bill. Blushing, he said, “Well, thankya, ma’am. Ah’m real flattered. Ain’t nobody ever paid me fer mah services before.”
“Don’t be flattered hon, take the money and buy yourself some boots that fit.”
Amen to that sister. Have a good weekend ya’ll!

There are a few key differences in College Football verse Professional. For example, because I know more about pro-ball, I was at a loss when the clock didn’t stop at the “2-minute warning.”
Here is another difference; College players aren’t allowed to physically “celebrate” their touchdowns like Professional players. I love touchdown dances, and have often practiced my own version of the funky chicken, but College players have to save it for the big time. (you have to watch this 40 sec spot set to “Girls Just want to have fun”)

$19.50 NFL team shirts with that perfect “just worn” distressed look. I had to buy my latest love: the NY Giants. Old Navy will offer the licensed merchandise for about half the price of other retailers, including T-shirts priced at $19.50, according to brand president Tom Wyatt. Online they have the tee-shirts listed under Men’s but I bought a medium and think it will be just fine.

Did every NFL game come down to the 2-minute warning this week? Bears verse Steelers? Colts verse Dolphins? Wow, it was an exciting second week for the 2009 NFL season. Our favorite game this week was the New England Patriots and the New York Jets. Mark Sanchez, the rookie QB for the Jets, was not favored to win this one.
